Manchester United, Robin van Persie, Louis van Gaal | 2012-08-17 13:37

Netherlands boss Louis van Gaal was happy with the news that Robin van Persie has left Arsenal to join Manchester United.

The Dutch attacker has signed a four-year deal with the Red Devils and the former Bayern Munich manager believes that the 29-year-old’s acclaimed transfer to the Old Trafford is a good thing for Netherlands football.

“Robin's transfer to Manchester United is fantastic not just for himself, but for Dutch football in general, too,” Van Gaal told Algemeen Dagblad.

“Robin followed his heart in this matter.”
