Spain eliminated from Olympics... by Honduras (0-1)

Olympic Games, Spain, Honduras | 2012-07-29 22:18

Spain were eliminated from the Olympic Games, on Sunday evening, after conceding a 1-0 defeat to Honduras, scoring their second loss in London.

The Spaniards failed to meet the expectations at the Olympics after a glorious Euro 2012.

Therefore, Spain U-23 were unable to comeback from a 6th minute Jerry Bengston strike, as the fragilities on their defence were evident, having sentenced their elimination from the competition.

Towards the end of the game, the Spanish players showed some unsteadiness with the 1-0 disadvantage, after Botia got sent off with a red card, while Jordi Alba seemed to act improperly with one of the match officials, in a match where 11 yellow cards were shown.
