Aquilani close to Fiorentina move – report

Liverpool, Fiorentina, Aquilani | 2012-07-29 17:46

Alberto Aquilani is reportedly on the brink of leaving Liverpool to join Fiorentina on a permanent deal.

According to The People magazine, the 28-year-old midfielder, who arrived at Anfield Road in 2009, from Roma, but who failed to secure a regular place in the team’s starting XI from day one, is about to join the recently Serie A promoted side, on a permanent deal.

Aquilani never shined at the service of the Reds, having enjoyed loan spells at both Juventus and AC Milan, since 2010, and now, according to claims, new Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is prepared to let the player go in a permanent transfer.

Fiorentina are presumably planning to offer a €7m (£5.4m) fee for the Italian player, which is expected to be accepted by the Premier League side.
