Lyon conquer French Supercup

Olympique Lyon have started the new season in France with the conquering of the French Supercup, following a  4-2 win over Montpellier, at the penalties shootout, after both teams tied 2-2.

The match was disputed in the Red Bull Arena, New York, with Utaka opening the scored for the Ligue 1 champions, at 27’.

However, Gomis re-established the equalizer for Lyon, still in the first-half, with just one minute left for halftime.

In the second period, Argentine player Herrera put Montpellier back on the lead, with a penalty goal, but Briand managed to draw the score for Lyon, once again, at 77’.

At the penalties shootout, Charbonnier and Bedimo failed their respective goals to Montpellier, while at Lyon side Fofana was the only one to miss the penalty.
