Cahill – Chelsea must improve from sixth-place finish

Chelsea, Gary Cahill | 2012-07-21 12:36

Chelsea defender Gary Cahill is confident that his side can improve on last campaign’s sixth-place finish, as the Blues have what it takes to fight for the Premier League title, this term.

Even though the Stamford Bridge outfit successfully claimed the Champions League title, beating Bayern Munich in the final, last season, they scored a disastrous sisxth-place finish at domestic level, finishing 25-points behind winners Manchester City.

“The most important thing is to improve upon that [sixth-placed finish],” Cahill said to Sky Sports News.

“When you look at the previous however many years, [Chelsea] were always finishing first or second.”

“I'm pretty new to the setup here, but we're definitely going to look to improve as we should be. The squad we've got here is fantastic. Obviously, with the new faces coming in, we are definitely looking to improve and push for the league.”
