Van Persie pulls out of Arsenal tour – report

Robin van Persie has reportedly pulled out of Arsenal’s Asia tour, in order to force a transfer to Manchester City.

According to goal.com, the Netherlands international has refused to travel with the Gunners to Malaysia and China, to compete at compete at the tour of Asia, as part of their pre-season campaign.

The tour begins on Saturday afternoon, and the club is expected to fly to Kuala Lumpur that fly that day, to play the first leg of the competition.

As for Arsenal boss, Arsene Wenger, he has reluctantly accepted the Dutchman’s attitude, according to the same reports, which means that Van Persie will stay at London Colney to train with the team’s academy and reserve players.

As opposed to what has been previously claimed, the same suggestions indicate that Manchester City are the ones in pole position to sign the 28-year-old striker, and not Manchester United.

Therefore, the Etihad side are believed to be plotting a lucrative package to lure the acclaimed  goalscorer to join the Premier League champions.
