BREAKING: PSG sign Thiago Silva

PSG, AC Milan, Thiago Silva | 2012-07-14 18:20

It is official. Paris Saint-Germain have signed Brazilian central-back, Thiago Silva, from AC Milan, the club have announced.

Silva has been long linked with a move to the Parc des Princes, and he has now penned down a five-year contract with the French league giants, for a reported €42m (£33m) fee.

The acclaimed defender will be earning a presumed salary of €7.5m (£5.8m) per year, which includes €1.5m (£1.2m) in bonuses.

Furthermore, the 27-year-old man has become the second most expensive defender in the world, after Manchester United centre-back Rio Ferdinand, and he is expected to be joined by former Milan team-mate Zlatan Ibrahimovic, at the Ligue 1 side.
