Didier Drogba at the top of 21st century goal scorers list

Didier Drogba, who recently ended an eight-year spell at the service of Chelsea and moved to China, is at the top of the best 21st century goal scorers list, which was divulged by the International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS), on Tuesday.

The Ivory Coast international has scored 100 goals since 2001, which include his nettings scored as an Olympique Marseille player, as well during his time at Chelsea and at international level.

The 34-year-old attacker came as the leader of a list which also includes Miroslav Klose, in the second position (90 goals) an Rud Van Nistelrooy, at third (87 goals.)

Barcelona star Lionel Messi is the sixth best goal scorer of the 21st century with 84 goals, while the Argentine's Real Madrid rival, Cristiano Ronaldo, came in the ninth place, with 76 nettings.

At the IFFHS top 10 also figure former Arsenal and Barça ace Thierry Henry, in fourth place, as well as Samuel Eto'o (84), David Villa (80) and Raul (78).

For this ranking results, the IFFHS considered all the players' goals scored since 2001 at international level, as well as at continental and intercontinental competitions.
