Napoli plotting £8m bid for Meireles

Transfer window, Napoli, Chelsea, Meireles | 2012-06-26 13:01

Napoli are reportedly preparing to present an £8m (€10m) offer to Chelsea, for 29-year-old midfielder Raul Meireles.

The Serie A side have been monitoring closely the Portugal international, who has joined Liverpool from Porto at the beginning of the 2010-11 season, before joining Chelsea, where he conquered the Champions League trophy, last season.

According to the Daily Mirror Napoli president, Aurelio De Larentiis, has already made contact with the agent of the Portuguese player, offering around £8m offer for Meireles.

However, the Blues midfielder stated that he will not make any decisions, regarding his future, before the end of the European tournament.

"I am focused on the Euros and I cannot think about my future right now," Meireles stated to the same newspaper.
