Chelsea glory Marcel Desailly has revealed he snubbed an approach for the vacant managerial position at Swansea City.

The Welsh side is looking for a replacement to Brendan Rodgers, who moved to Liverpool last month, and they made an approach for the former defender, who is currently trying to win UEFA’s coaching badges.

“I was approached, but it is not the right time,” he told Le 10 Sport.

“Everything seemed fine, but it was too early.”

Wigan assistant Graeme Jones remains as the leading candidate for the job despite the two parties aren’t currently negotiating.
