Jermain Defoe has rejoined the England camp in Poland and immediately headed to training.

The Tottenham attacker flew home after the death of his father but has already returned to Krakow and has already taken part in training.

The striker’s return is a boost for Roy Hodgson as he is likely to be available for the Three Lions’ opener against France on Monday, at a time England are again struggling with several injury concerns.

At the back, John Terry, Ashley Cole and Joleon Lescott are not 100 per cent fit, while there are some fears regarding midfielder James Milner, who was tipped for a start against the French.
