Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko is hoping to play alongside Luka Modric next season and believes the Citizens are perfect for the Croat.

Modric could be leaving White Hart Lane in the end of the season after a failed transfer saga last summer, and City are one of the Premier League clubs monitoring his situation as manager Roberto Mancini is an admirer of the playmaker.

“Everyone is after him, but I would love it if he came to City. He would be a great addition,” he told The Sun.

“Besides that, he would have everything at City – Champions League, fighting for the title, great wages. I am cheering for him to choose City.”
