Gary Cahill has expressed his confidence ahead of Chelsea's FA Cup meeting with Tottenham, but considered the clash to be a "defining moment" in his side's season.

"We're positive because of the results of late. So we're confident, but there is also a realisation of how big the game [against Tottenham] is," the Blues defender told FATV.

"It's a defining moment of the season."

Then, the 26-year-old player went on to praise Chelsea interim manager, Roberto Di Matteo who has adapted well to his managing position, after the dismissal of Portuguese tactician André Villas-Boas.

"The lads have taken to him well and he's been in and around the set-up for a while now, so he knows how we work and the lads know how he work," Cahill continued.

"He's a good guy and he's a good manager as well, so it's going really well at the minute."

In regards to their FA Cup opponents, the former Bolton man anticipated a difficult task for his team, praising Tottenham's manager Harry Redknapp.

"They're a hard team and Harry has turned them into a real force," he added. "It's going to be a tough game."
