Arsenal have taken advantage from Tottenham’s draw at Stamford Bridge to stay three points clear their White Hart Lane neighbours with an easy win against Aston Villa (3-0).

The Gunners have achieved their seventh triumph in a row for the first time since 2007, while the Villans have gone through the seventh match without tasting victory.

Once again, Wenger’s men saw the scoresheet spread for several players as Robin van Persie misfired this Saturday.

Kieran Gibbs netted the first at 16’, with Theo Walcott increasing the score at 25’. With a stunning free-kick, Mikel Arteta closed the result at 90’.

Arsenal now have 58 points, 11 away from Manchester City and three above Tottenham. Aston Villa, on the other hand, remain 15th with 33 points.
