Inter Milan director denies new manager this season

Inter Milan | 2012-03-08 16:54

Inter Milan's director, Ernesto Paolillo, has revealed that the team will not hire a new manager before the end of the current campaign, regarding  the recent growing speculation about a possible Claudio Ranieri exit, if they fail to win the Champions League tie against Marseille.

Even though Paolillo guaranteed that the nerazzurri will not appoint a new manager in the near future, he did not discard completely the possibility of a new man taking the command of the Giuseppe Meazza side in summer.

"The coach for the future? Now we are thinking about finishing the season, then we will think about the coach," the Internazionale director told reporters.

Therefore, Paolillo's comments do not mean that Ranieri's job is safe, especially after rumours that Primavera club manager, Andrea Stramaccioni, could step in until the end of the season on an interim basis.

It has been also suggested that former Chelsea boss, André Villas-Boas in at the top of the nerazzurri potential new manager list, as they sit seventh in Serie A table, and have narrowed their chances of achieving the Champions League qualification spot at the end of the 2011-12 campaign.
