Szczesny explains season turn - We believe in the boss

Arsenal, Chelsea, Szczesny | 2012-03-08 15:41

Keeper Wojciech Szczesny has suggested Arsenal have outranked Chelsea in the Premier League standings because the players are fully behind manager Arsène Wenger, unlike at Stamford Bridge.

The Gunners have endured the worst start in 58 years but have managed to turn the season around as they stand fourth and on an impressive run-in, with wins against Liverpool, Tottenham and Milan – despite their crash from the UEFA Champions League.

And the Polish stopper believes it's all due to the union of the squad around Wenger.

“We have a fantastic manager who knows how to run the club. All the players believe in what he's doing,” Szczesny told The Sun.

"Sometimes things don't go our way but we believe in the way the manager runs the club, the way we want to play football. In doing that, we know that even if things are wrong we're going to turn it around and win games - and that's what we have done in the last few weeks. Hopefully we can keep doing it."

Opposite from Blues neighbours

Arsenal have outranked Chelsea in the fourth position and the Blues' poor results have led to the sacking of manager André Villas-Boas. However, Szczesny has attributed Chelsea's lack of success this season to the fact their players do the exact opposite than the ones at the Emirates.

“Arsenal is a little bit different to Chelsea. I think some of the English lads at Chelsea run the club, pretty much. You know they've had about 10 different managers in the last few years.”
